UK steel trade measure in force from 1 July 2026 — Türkiye holds country quotas
The steel safeguard and its 25% additional duty ceased on 30 June 2026; the new steel trade measure applies from 1 July 2026. Türkiye holds country-specific quota allocations (including rebars, merchant bars and hollow sections), and steel imported outside quota pays a 50% tariff.

Construction products: UK proposes product traceability and labelling duties
MHCLG proposes that construction product manufacturers label products with a unique product identifier and a data carrier (e.g. QR code) linking to digital product information, and retain risk-assessment and safety-incident records for 10 years. Importers would have to verify the manufacturer's risk assessment and keep product documentation for 10 years. These are consultation proposals, not yet in force; the consultation closed 20 May 2026.
